Currently I have stored everything in my dresser & while it worked out great in the past. This setting is a pain in the behind right now. I have very bad lighting in my bedroom & every time I have to put makeup on, I have to haul everything to my bathroom. I have been thinking of moving everything to the bathroom in my linen closet. Among other things, it already holds our perfumes, lotions & creams.
I have always read that humidity from hot showers is not the best thing for makeup & that bathroom in general is breeding grounds for germs. Our commode lids are closed every single time after a use & before flushing. When we take hot showers we usually leave the bathroom door open for some time after that. Question is keeping the above mention things in mind, how bad can it be?
Can I still make the move & store everything in my bathroom? It will make my life ten times easier.
Do you any of you already store your makeup in the bathroom? Do you feel like it “melts” or gets too “creamy” for use? Or does it not matter at all?
117 views & not a single response. Ladies come on. No one stores their makeup in the restroom? Even if you don't, no comments on whether storing it in the bathroom is a good idea or not.
I store my nail polishes in the bathroom and other cosmetics in my bedroom, despite the dim lighting.
Now my sister puts her makeup in the bathroom. She is a med student and lived on her own and whenever I've visited her apartment, the makeup was on the bathroom counter. It may have been because the lighting was better in the bathroom and also because she didn't have storage space in her room. It's worked out for her. She's now visiting and will sometimes move her makeup to our bathroom.
I am guessing that she has encountered no problems with it, so continues to do it. I had once placed some oil extracts that I got from Vitamin Shoppe in the mirrored medicine cabinet of the bathroom. The oil came in those dropper bottles with the rubber tops. After a while, the rubber tops melted from the heat. :/ Maybe you can store the face poowder, bronzer, eyeshadow vaghaira in the bathroom....but things that have the tendency to melt such as lipsticks keep them in your room...anything with a creamy texture...keep in your room. Some people even put oft-used lipsticks in the fridge.
Bint, I've never kept make up in the bathroom but also had the problem of bad lighting (bedrooms generally have lower-key lighting, especially compared to bathrooms.) If you're worried about your make up getting ruined, why not get a lamp or small light to put on your dresser when doing your make up? That's what I did and it makes it a lot easier, saving trips to the bathroom lol.
Failing that I'd do what Arzi said and keep your main make up in the bathroom.
Dressers are so useless, I swear. No one has good lighting in bedrooms unless you install vanity lights like TLK said. I keep all my makeup in the bathroom. As long as you are keeping in a dry place, it's going to be fine.
I keep all my makeup in the bedroom, but apply it in the bathroom half the time, especially at night.
Occasionally I leave it in the bathroom cabinet, but always bring it back to my dresser. Yup, bathroom lighting is way better than bedroom, especially at night when there is no natural light for me to apply make up in the bedroom.
I got rid of my bedroom dresser, it took up too much space, so I store all my makeup in the bathroom in those plastic drawer containers. Works well and I haven't experienced anything going bad or melting.
