Storing hair mask mixtures.......

how do you guys store them for weeks, is there any ingredient that would prevent the mask mixture from going bad.

i don’t want to keep making it every couple days…

Re: Storing hair mask mixtures…

nobody does this?

Re: Storing hair mask mixtures.......

i would also like to know .. IF it is possible ...

Re: Storing hair mask mixtures.......

Oftentimes, lemon juice is used to keep things from oxidizing.

Can you guys post hair masks that you use? And how they benefit your hair?

Re: Storing hair mask mixtures.......

**I do that :D

I make a mixture of coconut oil (3/4) and castor oil (1/4) and put that in a plastic food container.
When I have to apply that, I take a butter knife and cut the amount needed and heat it in the microwave (for 20sec)

Re: Storing hair mask mixtures.......

sidra! ye bhi koi hair mask hua jisko khaas tor per sambhalna paray!!!

i use an avocado mask ... makes hair soft and manageable .. and also promotes healthy growth.

so how can perishable items like fresh fruit be preserved for one week?

Re: Storing hair mask mixtures…

**Haha That’s only what I do for my hair :sid:
And I don’t want to do that again an again that’s why I keep them in food containers.

Lemon works for fresh fruits
Here’s something that I found :**

Hope it helps

lol … thaanks!! will try it

Re: Storing hair mask mixtures.......

Massage soaked tea leaves or concentrated tea water on the scalp and leave on for about 10–15 minutes after shampoo. Regular washing of hair with tea extract twice a week helps

Mix olive oil and a mashed banana and apply it on your hair. Leave it on for 10-15 minutes before a wash. Apply this hair mask once a week for about two months and then stop.

tea one i know will spoil after a couple days even if i keep it cool, so lemon is the ingredient that would keep it usable for weeks?

there's another hair mask recipe too that is really great and it had avocado in it but i need to remember it before i post it b/c it kept spoiling after a few days and i put so many ingredients in it that it just seemed like a waste of money so i stopped making it

i'm hoping the lemon will work though

Re: Storing hair mask mixtures…

but when you heat the frozen avocado doesn’t it lose some of it’s benefits for the hair?

Re: Storing hair mask mixtures.......

Interesting... how long do you keep the mask for? And do you just wash it off in the shower? Shampoo as usual? What is the castor oil mask used for? The banana one?

Re: Storing hair mask mixtures.......

**Store your mixture in small containers . And when you have to apply it on your hair, take some cold water and put this frozen mixture in that water for few hours it will defroze it and it won't lose its benefits also :D

Re: Storing hair mask mixtures.......

omg that's such a good idea using the small containers, i don't know why i didn't think of freezing it and the defrosting method is good one, thanks :-)
