Storing Bridal Joras?

What is the best way to preserve a bridal jora? With my formals, I normally hang them inside suit bags (for the life of me I can’t remember what those things are actually called!).

With the bridal kaam being MUCH heavier…should anything extra be done?

I need tips for a sari and a lehenga.

Make sure you use acid free tissue paper. And I'd pack it away, hanging it in a bag may damage the fabric cause of the weight of the kaam.

Turns out you started this last thread too! Anyway, posting it because I described how I stored mine here…

Re: Storing Bridal Joras?

Thanks everyone!

Looks like I need to go buy some tissue paper. :)

Greysanatomyfan: Apparantly I did...lol. I've been hanging all my formals so far in garment bags without any problems....but wasn't sure about my bridal. And I didn't even remember I started that thread back in 2010...lol. Thank you!!! :)

Re: Storing Bridal Joras?

I've just come back from Pak with my bridal (yay!) but baraat is not until September.....my jorra has been hanging in a garment bag in my wardrobe for the past couple of days now, but after reading this thread I'm worried because of the heavy kaam the fabric will get ruined :( How do I store it in an easily-accessible manner, as I'm gonna need it regularly to try on for fittings and stuff up until the big day.

Re: Storing Bridal Joras?

^maybe just lay the garment bag flat on a shelf? That way the fabric won't get pulled down by the heavy kaam...
