Re: Stopping period...
why do you wanna stop them?

I would imagine if you were going for hajj/umrah, you wouldn't want to be disrupted by your period....right? I remember a classmate took birth control specifically for that reason....she said after spending so much money for hajj, you don't want your period to ruin it.
I can't think of any other reasons though....and I wouldn't really recommend it, if your cycle is normal, consider it a blessing....y ou don't want to mess with it.
Re: Stopping period...
I think you can stop them... I've heard of girls going to their GP for tablets to stop their period when they go for hajj/umrah. Sorry I couldn't be more help, you really should see your GP about it though.

How do you stop them?
Re: Stopping period...
^ one way I've heard is to take the birth control pill
Re: Stopping period…
That didn’t change anything for me as far as I remember
.
Re: Stopping period…
Im trying to remember my HS health class…from what I recall, there’s one week of placebo pills..to skip a period, you skip that week of placebo pills and go straight to the new pack. I THINK ![]()
Re: Stopping period…
Yep…this will stop the period. I’ve done it a few times over the years. Never had an issue.

yeah,i have taken those tablets to stop/delay my periods when i was going for umrah.i took the tablets but they didn't suit meand made me sick.i went to my doc again and she changed the tablets.
Re: Stopping period...
yes you can but its not recommended to it for more than 3 cycles with the bcp.
Ppl do it before umrah or hajj and also before honeymoon, lol.
Re: Stopping period...
I wanted to stop period for sometime for my holiday so went to doctor and she prescribed me Nerothisterone 3 times a day, and she told me that it has some side effects as well but thank God then I decided not to mess up with my periods. I would still recommend to not stop them unless u really need to or going for Umrah or Haj.
Re: Stopping period...
What if want to delay two consecutive cycles?can this be done??

agree
Re: Stopping period...
I want to know can the period be delayed effectively for a month for hajj umrah types of purposes? ...and what is the remedy for this ....my doc recommended what sara516 suggested but I don't want to deal with spotting and stuff.
Re: Stopping period...
White light , yes you can do it for a cycle or two .. but do not extend it any further then that .. messing up with one's cycle is risky business and its got its long term effects ... so if you are a short cycle person, you are left with no choice but to control two cycles .. hopefully within days after the required time frame your body will come to the normal routine , but just in case if it doesnt , definitely get your self checked by the doc ...
Re: Stopping period...
Doesn't anyone realise that the bleeding you get on the pill free or placebo week is not a period? This is a breakthrough bleed, meant to simulate menstruation... that's how the pill was designed.
If it's a monophasic pill like microgynon, like inspiron said you can take it up to 3 months without any breaks.
Re: Stopping period...
^ So its not a menstruation...does that mean one can pray/fast during that time? I'm not being sarcastic...im genuinely curious to know..
Re: Stopping period...
I don't think so... you're still bleeding which invalidates wudu. And although its not a real period I expect its composition is similar.
