I stopped taking my pills 21 days ago so today is 22nd day. I also finished the period that comes on when on the pill. I calculated the ovuation dates and it worked out last fri, sat and sun were ovulation dates.
Anyway, for the past few days, i have been spotting. Today, this morning, i was spotting - had a shower! Again, couple of hours later, it started again and now i even have had to miss namaaz…
For the last couple of days, i have been feeling sick in the morning too. Felt dizzy on the odd occasion…hmmm…i think appetite might have gone up too - just a lil snacking before dinner…
Whats happening…someone help…or is it just hormones playing…and re-adjusting back to normal. What should i do?
Wait a few more days and then do a home pregnancy test ;-)
I jst spoke to one of my friends about this and she said it could be a breakthrough bleed but said if i am feeling dizzy that i should do a home preg test as well.
How long will this spotting last for? Should this spotting continue for me to wait a while and do home preg test or should it stop and then i do it?
I am lil excited deep inside but at the same time, i dont want to get my hopes up...oh ya Allah...
Also, i cant be pregnant..cuz there are other precautions that we are taking. Its prob a breakthrough bleed...dont want to get my hopes up...will see..
^My friend stopped taking the pill; within a month she was pregnant. It can happen. Not saying that that is definitely what this is; just saying not to rule anything out.
yar what r u doing? do consult a good gynae at ur earliest instead of waiting here for replies...the dr wud be good enough to find out whats going on with u...dont give this all more time!
Uetian, why? There is nothing to worry about...im leaving everything to Allah(swt) he knows best. I want to give it a couple more days - my normal period might start next week and maybe the spotting is just a start...
Sunset, like Sanam said spotting is not a period so you dont have to miss namaz because of that. Rest i think when you stop BCP you can get spotting and its normal for some people. Ofcourse if your period is late you will want to do an HPT.
SAJAL: When i was pregnant (i miscarried later on), dizziness and shortness of breath were one of the first symptoms but since i didnt know, i never realised i could be pregnant. It was only later when my preg was confirmed and i was still getting dizzy spells, is when i figured the reason.
It happened to me Sunset when I stopped my pill and continued for a horrible 6-7 months. I had spotting for like 3 weeks each month until I saw a gynae in pak and started a treatment. I hope it's nothing like that for you. btw which pill were you on, I was on diane.

Thank you Ira 4 ur reply. Ok, so i shall start reading the qazaa namaaz inshallah soon. I stopped taking the pill 3 weeks ago and i dont even know when my normal period is going to start. If i was on the pill, it would start on the 7th April - but all this spotting business is confusing me now..Also, i am so sorry about ur miscarriage. May Allah provide you and your hubby with lots of lil bubz inshallah.

Oh God, i hope its not like with me. I was on Microgynon 30 - suited me fine. Didnt gain any weight at all Alhumdullilah. How are you now?
it's quite normal now although i get loooong periods sometimes, like this time it's been 16 days and going on. ( i hope guys are not in this thread). But thanks Allah its not that often now cos it is just sooo tiring and u feel so unhealthy in every way.
I pray it goes on well with you.
I am also confused about this namaz issue and did some search on it only to confuse me more. It just doesn't feel right praying in this condition, I don't feel clean enough.
It maybe just a normal reaction of stopping pills, as those are actually hormones that you are taking and a sudden stop may cause changes. I think one shouldn't rush to doctors if it's not too serious because sometimes docs end up putting you on so many medication that it freaks you out. Wait a little bit to let you body settle.

Ur right Masi, i dont want to rush to the docs however i spoke to the doc on the phone and she said its too early in this cylce to be pregnant....either wait and do a HPT or it could be my period...i think i am going to wait till weds and will see...
Although, m getting alot of cramps and headaches..havent been eating that much either...these cramps cant be my period pains as they are much lower and hurt alot - also it feels like tightness around my stomach...arrrggghhh...i hate not know whats happening...but i shall wait...

Gosh, to me this seems like the classic symptoms of pregnancy that you are experiencing but you are right its best to wait it out and see what it is that is affecting you. Sometimes coming off the pill can disrupt your menstral cycle, some people take months to get their periods back to normal. It's nothing to worry about just if you were going to plan on having children it would take longer that's all, but the symptoms that you are getting, I dont actually know if its from withdrawal symptoms, does it say anything about side affect when coming off the pills that you were taking?
