Stigma

Each religion comes with their own set of spiritual beliefs and with that is opened a door opened to what some of us could say Pandora’s box.

What I’m particularly interested in is the wounds of jesus christ and how these wounds are moved on to normal everyday folk.

Whats the significance do these wounds have for these people who bare them?

Its weird to me how some people go through so much torture whether caused by powers unexplained or by themselves.

Being a skeptic I think these Priests or people do it for attention that “hey look at me i have had the wounds of christ, i’m better than you are”

If you ask me its a load of crock as far as the wounds of christ go, cuz if anything not that I believe Christ died for the people but for the sake of argument only he is the one who should bare the wounds.

Hmm, oh yeah the sect in Islam hitting yourself because of past martyrs and celebrating deceased birthdays. Questionable there too.

I haven’t come across anything in Judaism, except the wailing wall whats that about?

Anyone have know of any stigma’s or in relation to any religion out there? Don’t get me wrong here I’m not knocking sects or any religion, I’m just trying to find out what other stuff seems abnormal than the daily practice of your religion.

anyone?

I am sorry cannot help you out. I have never seen one and don't beleive much in "supernatural" anyway. The famous case of stigma in history that I do know of is that of Saint Pope Pius V. He used to be the Grand Inquistory during the infamous spanish inquistion where countless innocent, muslims, jews, protestants were tortured and killed by the catholics on the order of the church. He is personally responsible for ordering the murder of thousands, and personally administered torture to thousands. He was a great zealot and used to undergo great physical ordeals to purify himself, like hooking a heavy cross into his skin and then dragging it across a church to atone for his "sin". He is supposed to have stigma that used to bleed and blood was also supposed to come out from his side imitating the wound of Christ on the cross. Bunch of C**** and lies in my judgement. Ofcourse given the time and age, he was first promoted to a Pope and eventually made into a Saint. In italy, around his hometown, people still go and light candles and ask for his blessings!!!!
