Does anyone know how to clean the sticky stuff which gets left behind after you take off a price tag? Not something you can directly wash, but like a pencil case. Any ideas?
Re: Sticky stuff after taking off a price tag
Take a piece of cloth/cotton and dampen it with soap-hot water mixture. Clean the residue with that.
If that doesn’t work, use hand sanitizer or vegetable oil in place of soap mixture.

goo-gone works for this also.

Re: Sticky stuff after taking off a price tag
I don’t know how this sounds but growing up us kids used mayonnaise to scratch off stickers. Worked extremely well.

^ because it has oil in it
I use alcohol swabs for this purpose

Goo Gone is the best!
I use oil.
Re: Sticky stuff after taking off a price tag
Sprinkle a lot of talcum powder and leave it overnight. Next morning just remove it with cotton dipped in nail polish remover. Works well for clothes too if they dont run colours ![]()

Re: Sticky stuff after taking off a price tag
Thank you everyone! Finally did my experiment!
I tried 4 different things mentioned here and some worked like a charm, while others not so much.
In order of best results!
Oil: Without a question, works 100%! I seriously wasn’t expecting it, but WOW! Within seconds the glue is gone, and the surface is clean.
Hot water + soap: Next best would be this simple combo. Though, didn’t do the BEST job, but not bad.
Nail polish remover: If you scrub really hard, it would work, but than you don’t want to damage the product either.
Mayo: This was kind of a fail for me. It was more messy than anything else.
