Steve Carell became a sensation when he played The 40-Year-Old Virgin. His cheery, sex-less Andy Stitzer won us all over and made the man a star. It also set him on a path of romantic dysfunction. He found himself dumped in Little Miss Sunshine, widowed and lusting for his brother’s girlfriend in Dan in Real Life, and having a really crappy Date Night earlier this year. And on the way, just to add to the turmoil, he plays a father dealing with his children during a marital crisis in Crazy, Stupid, Love.
One would think that this is enough lovey dovey dysfunction for now, but Carell seems to be the go-to guy for this sort of fare, and now he’s gearing up for yet another. This time, he’ll be playing a man who wants to find a boyfriend for his wife.Filed under: Comedy, Casting
