Steve Bucknor

Should be retired now.

Every match has bad umpiring decisions, but with Bucknor in the last few matches it has been a continous stream of them.

The guy was once good, but now he needs to be removed from the elite panel, just like DeSilva. Some of his decisions today were atrocious.

true.. i was readin one of the article written by an indian that steve bucknor isnt in our cristmas card list :S

if i aint wrong he gave some bad decisions against india in last AUs vs India matches :konfused:

so yeah he should retire nowwww… this new guy tuffel.. i already started to like him… although he did give one wrong decision in last game.. but ohh well :halo:

Yeah everyone should retire how about just having 2 umpirs in elite panel

Jagmohan Dalmiya
and Ramasawmi :)

I agree. I think umpiring mistakes are exaggerated but his refusals to give out plumb lbws have always narked me. There are much better umpires around these days. Taufell is excellent and Aleem Dar is up there as well.

Totally disagree.

There is a big difference between 'incompetence' and 'out-of-form'. Bucknor has been a great umpire and will remain so. Asoka DeSilva is incompetent and will never be a good umpire. Shep is a great umpire but he too makes crucial mistakes. I am willing to put up with an umpiring error as long as the umpire makes majority of decisions correctly.

And for those of you judging umpires merely on LBW and caught behind rulings, shame on you. You guys do not realize how difficult it is. And for your kind information, this hawk-eye crap is not 100% accurate either.

Could’nt agree more here ,
Live decisions and reviews have a thick line in between
Just imagine if decisions are based on thicknology then the matches would be over in half a day. Bucknor is the best there is :snooty:

well said funguy....i agree cent percent...it is so easy to raise a finger at an umpire sitting in front of Tv and watching the replay for 10 times....but imagine yourself in his position where you have to make the decision in a split second.....it is not easy by any means.....indians have this habbit of blaming someone once the defeat is imminent............

just relax, this stuff happens. look at UConn - Duke, bad refereering occurs at the highest levels. he's a great ref indians wouldn't be complaining if they had won. don't hear the aussies complaining about him.

Steve Bucknor & Shepard are the best umpires IMO. Its not easy to make a decision when every two minutes someone is appealing for the call. It puts pressure on the umpire, so sometimes they give the benefit-of-doubt to the batsman.
