The Master of suspense/thriller Stephen King is back with yet another drama. It’s a Two Hour Premiere for “Thy Kingdom Come” on Wednesday, March 3, 9/8c. Channel ABC.
Synopsis
Artist Peter Rickman is run down by a stoned, two-time loser driving a minivan. He is admitted comatose to Kingdom Hospital, but not before encountering a ghostly figure whose mission is to use him to rid the hospital of malevolence, both human and inhuman, and to free its nine-year old mistress, Mary, from the hospital’s haunted halls. When he awakens in an altered state with newfound but not necessarily welcome telepathic powers, Rickman finds he can communicate with the spirits, good and evil, man and beast, inhabiting the hospital. Mrs. Druse, a patient with psychic gifts, is the first to hear the cries of the trapped ghost and attempts to persuade brilliant, eccentric surgeon Dr. Hook to join her quest to identify it. She is opposed in this effort by the hopelessly arrogant and mean-spirited chief neurologist Dr. Stegman, and the ebullient but vacuous hospital administrator, Dr. Jesse James, who is concerned only with the hospital’s image.
I am not positive 'bout Stephen King being in accident lately but he was admitted in hospital last year. Kingdom Hospital is a mini-series, and I haven't gotta chance to watch a single episode. Gladly, my Mom have recorded them.
This is the worst show I've seen in a while. The screenplay is horrible and the cinematography is even worse. Have the creators of this show ever been in a REAL hospital? What are they trying to show with hospitals that are pitch dark all the time? I work in a hospital, I've worked in many hospitals, EVERY hospital is very brightly lit 24/7. Then there's the ridiculous security guard, a guy like that would lose his job in a heartbeat. And finally, what was the deal with the two janitors with downs syndrome laughing at the stupidest thing?
This show is a big waste of time. Stephen king needs to stick to writing books and not screenplays. MSN did an article about King books that went on to become movies, the five worst ones were the ones where he adapted the screenplay himself and the five best ones were the ones where he wasn't involved in the making of the movie.
