steamer

who’s got one and which one is good to get?
i want one that’ll let me do the mister’s work shirts and also my own clothes and the kids. basically, all clothes, but it would also be nice to get one that can handle big things like duvet covers.
not sure what they cost to begin with, so hrm, budget is undetermined.

Re: steamer

you iron your duvet covers??? I did when Iw as living alone... never even once after the baby's born :D

Re: steamer

^ i've never done it, actually, but now that i'm staying home with the kid, i feel like i should bring out my inner Martha. or try to, anyway haha :p
but no, seriously, its because the duvet cover comes out SO crinkled in the dryer, it looks rubbish when i put it on the bed, so i thought i could possibly steam it if i had a steamer.

Re: steamer

We have Shark multipurpose steamer with several attachments, and one can do vertically hanging clothes, but we never tried. Maybe I should try doing my suits that I crush to death because I refuse to carry anything but small carry on with me on planes and fold my suit in it.

Re: steamer

And it looks fine after u take it out… Or do u “steam” it on a hanger whilst u are in the shower ? :hoonh:

Re: steamer

Sgc and gtg best tip with duvet covers , don't put them in the dryer. Spin on the highest setting then fold them neatly and hang on a heavy duty hanger.
Given the heating in our homes or if you sun , they dry within 24 hours and look pretty decent.

I do this with all my husbands shirts, my cotton or lawn suits and bedsheets and duvet covers. They are way way easier to iron.

Re: steamer

Ooh I haven't tried doing that with covers... I put everything else that's usually hung, onto hangers right when the come out the wash...can just hang them when they r dry... No "god I have laundry to fold' Rona dhona.
