Re: Steaks

You can try rib-eye steak or if you wanna splurge then filet mignon.

Don't worry, we know you eat non-zabiha :D

haha. the cut I got is brasciole or something.

and it says halal on the top. if its not really halal/zabiha…thas not my problem :snooty:

Now how do I make it? If i keep it in the fridge, it’ll stay okay til tomorrow when I make it..right?

Re: Steaks

I normally marinate it with the ready-made steak sauce(HP etc), you can get that at a grocery store..additionally I add 1tbsp of brown sugar, salt and black pepper to my taste and leave it to marinate.

Serve it with homemade steak sauce. I normally get inspiration from this website

Cooks.com - Recipes - Steak Sauce

there’s much variety and they are easy, you don’t have to follow it to the core if you don’t want to. Also serve mashed potatoes or grilled veggies with your steak :k:

Re: Steaks

I'd for for flank or t-bone. I like to use the grill pans on the stove (so you get those grill marks). i don't marinate it - just season it with salt black pepper and little olive oil. - Instead make a sauce on the side - like a black pepper sauce, or a horseradish cream sauce, or parsley garlic butter - whatever you feel like. Serve it with potato of some sort (mashed/fingerling/baked) and/or grilled veggies.

Re: Steaks

hey didnt come out so bad. hmmm

Re: Steaks

ahh just saw it, if u want to follow the banquet chefs style, sear it on a grill pan a minute a side and then out it in an oven at 350 degrees for 5-10 minutes...well u have to adjust based on thickness of steak and how well done you want it.

ribeye is probably the best cut to test things out, its more fatty so u have less risk of drying it out.
get one with good marbling

and honestly..marinade shmarinade..season with kosher salt and grill it..if i want tikka boti I will eat tikka boti. desi screw up perectly good steaks by monkeying around with garam masala and what nots :)

Re: Steaks

^ nah just rubbed it with black pepper and salt and a lil bit of lemon..left it for some time, then made it in the frying pan.
added a bit of soy sauce while cooking.
These were really thin pieces though, better suited for sandwiches though. hmm =S
