I have had a HUGE craving for steak all day today. Does anyone else like steak? If so do you usually like it home made, or resteraunt and how do you like it cooked?
Yum Yum, i like steak. They always look so nice in English restaurants but can't have them cos haraam. However, whenever i have them in Halal places they r NEVER any good.
The ones i make at home r nicer, but for some reason i dont cook them so much. Chargrilled are nice.
Gotta b very well done cos i can't bring myself to eat pink meat.

here steaks are halal everywhere so i just go to any place i want n have them.. best i like is fillet mignon with mushroom sauce in meridian..

I love steak , home made , in USA I have not seen any halal restaurant serving steak, I know how to make them so no complaints. I even make pizza with left over steaks.

omg I LOVE steak!! So does my littlest boy lol! Pink and juicy, grilled on the bbq with lots of pepper and soy/vinegar marinade! There is really nothing haraam about steak, I think its just that you need to get all the "juice" out of it - my hubby likes steak but he squeezes all the juices out of it and cooks it till its tough. When they're cooked till just pink, they have juice and heck its not really a nice thing to do but I LOVE it. BEST gift I ever, ever had....when number 3 son was born I asked my hubby not to bring flowers, bring me a STEAK. He did :) it was the BEST nicest dinner we ever had together lol!

Yes steak in itself is not haram , also there is no need to turn it into a beef jerky also.
It is that some Muslims believe (I am one of those people) that the meat sold in American super markets is not halal in Islamic sense. They believe only if it is kosher or it has been slaughter in a certain way then it is halal.
Most Muslims believe that meat of a halal animal slaughtered by people of Book like Christians and Jews is halal to consume.
There is a lot of Islamic Fiqh behind both notions of what is halal meat.

OMG ... I was thinking about starting the same topic. Steaks are just best. Other day at mosque we had a BBQ and that arab guy cooked for us. It was the best steak i everrr had. It was medium rare i guess and yea pink and tender. Just melts inside your mouth. I LOVED it.
Otherday they were showing some bulls on TV and guess what I thought of ... yes you are right ... STEAK ... it was same like cartoons, when they look at eachother and they turn into a roasted duck ... same like that :D

Guys, if you like steak, then eat it as much and as quickly as you can. When you start having any kind of medical issues (cholestrol, blood pressure etc), the first thing that is banned from your menu is … yes, you guessed it … steaks! Oh wait, may be you’d just speed up your cholestrol by eating a lot of steak. Ouch! 
I think the best steaks I have had were in Lahore (Copper Kettle). Without getting into the whole zabihah vs halal issue, there are some places in the US which serve absolutely the most terrific steaks. Difference is that in Pakistan, a steak is made tempting by adding melted cheese (even fry eggs) on top of them. Here in the US, good steaks stand on their own. They don’t even give you A-1 steak sauce, unless you specifically ask for it. Plus, the marination of a good steak is actually very simple. The whole trick is the cut of meat and grilling prowess.

Best steaks are of dear meat I had the chance to enjoy one at Hyatt Regency in Salt Lake City , Utah during dinner season. I forgot the name of the restuarant.

with some of USA's top steak houses in Chicago, plus some good chains..I am blessed with good steaks..chophouse, gene and georgetis, smith and wolensky, capital grille, shula's, ruths chris, gibsons, ditkas, wildfire, weber grill, pete millers, lawrys, harry carrys, rosebud, mortons, and then teh brazilain joints like texas de brazil, fogo de chao etc.

Oh man my bro brings home filet mignons from stew leonards and it smells so good when its cooked. but i've never had it. i doubt desi/halal places wud ever have such good stuff. :(

I usually eat mine cooked medium.... ive never had medium rare.... how is that?

yea we do have TGI Friday's here in Dubai.. I dont think there is anything we dont have from the big chains :) .. Infact it is in MOE just near Magic Planet. However, i like Chilis better and their steaks are better than TGI Friday's
What kind of steaks are preferred in Pakistan? I am going to assume it is considered a delicacy, and most people order it well done, since we don’t like pink or blood in our meat?

which is a little odd because half the time at restaurants and weddings etc, the seekh kebabs and tikka is undercooked
