Steak strips

I’ve taken about 1kg out of the freezer but there’s only two of us so it’s way too much to eat. I plan to use some of it to make this:

Pepper Steak | Fauzia’s Kitchen Fun

What other dish could I make with it and then freeze to take out for another time?

You can marinate and bbq rest of the pieces

Re: Steak strips

don’t have a bbq but I could roast it I suppose - what marinade?

Boti kebab masala would be great if you have it

Re: Steak strips

address/date/time - too much food will not be a problem anymore.

Re: Steak strips

Op, my dad makes something like the picture you posted. It’s called chaampain I think. He doesn’t use bell peppers. He cooks it desi-style…with big chunky tomatoes…chunky onions…lots of thinky sliced ginger…and vinegar. I don’t know what spices he uses, but he does add vinegar. I don’t eat the mistake…i know what a waste :hehe:…but I love the masala (tomatoes, onion etc) …it’s different from the othet masala-gravy compositions.

Re: Steak strips

^ Chaanpain is plural of Chanp which comes from Chops. So chops are called chaanpain. You might be mistaking it for Pasanday, which are thin steak like pieces.

Re: Steak strips

My dad has made chaampain and pasanday. The latter is very very thin and delicate compared to chaampain.

Re: Steak strips

update: I misjudged - it was only 1/2 kg of steak strips, and two more people came round for dinner so I used all of it and it was exactly enough for 4! aren’t happy endings just lovely?

(sorry X2 - maybe next time…!)
