What has worked for me in the past has been an extra extra large bowl of rolled oats in milk. Add unsalted nuts for flavour and proteins. Unsalted because salt makes you hungry. This has in the past kept me full for 6-8 hours.
Avoid fried foods as they will just pass through quickly.
I do not eat much at sehri time… Cant eat paratha for sehri. I take (Khaalass) milk with badam or sometimes a bowl of yogurt with dates. These things keep me full..
I enjoy the hunger pangs we get during Ramadan . Coz they really help me put things and humanity in perspective .
Waise , no matter how much we try to eat food stuff that will keep us fuller for longer , itnay lambay rozay mai all things fail ! date khao ya banana , four hours is all it takes for the body to digest it. Baaki kai time : Total Wattttt .

Has anyone figured out how to NOT get a headache from not having chai/coffee in the morning?
That’s the toughest thing for me.
I can handle the hunger and the cramps. I can handle the thirst.
But that dang headache…
I’ve the same issue here. Not taking coffee creates headache and a a burst of sleepiness. What I usually do is stop taking coffee two days prior to the start of the month. It gives mild headache but since other intake is on, you can live with it.
Luckily this year its starting over the weekend so there is a strong chance most of us will be getting more sleep during the day time. It leaves us few hours before Iftar and that you have to drag trying to distract yourself.
Coffee is a diuretic and will make one lose water from the body, proteins keep you full the longest. Greek yogurt has loads of proteins. Sports nutritionist gave us the recipe for high protein overnight oats. salt helps retain water. People can try homemade Gatorade, half water, half orange juice and some salt. That was a recipe for our athletes. also, pumpkin seeds are great for proteins and healthy omega 3s. A brisk walk increases heart rate which is what coffee does. Once you get up do a brisk walk. Don’t eat refined carbs in the morning as you will get a big crash by fluctuating sugars levels in the body, only whole grains. The body takes a lot of energy to digest fats and makes you lethargic so not too many fats in morning.
