ISLAMABAD: The Supreme Court of Pakistan has issued a stay order on Tuesday against the disqualification of Pakistan Muslim League-N President Mian Shahbaz Sharif. Mian Shahbaz Sharif has been restored as Chief Minister of Punjab immediately following the issuance of the stay order.
The apex court bench, headed by Justice Tassaduq Jilani, heard Sharif brothers eligibility case. According to the verdict, till the apex court’s hearing and decision into Sharifs’ case, Shahbaz Sharif would continue serving as chief minister Punjab.

As if it was ever in doubt, why did we have to go through all this mess??
We are back to where we should have been a year ago but we have lost not only time but thousands of lives because of political instability.

This is surely good news for people of Punjab as Shahbaz Shareef has a reputation to give relief to the common man.

Shahbaz Sharif had earlier claimed that the present wave of terrorism in the province was due to wide spread schuffling in the province particularly in police department. Now it will be up to the restored CM to prove that he can stop this lawlessness otherwise he will have no moral justification to remain the CM of the province and public will be justified to demand his resignation....

Not to derail thread, but that was all political hot air when he was out of power, but reality now is different. Our police force is not equipped to fight highly trained & battle harden terrorists & he can't do much. That's army & federal governments job. Having said that, no one can dispute the fact that he is highly effective administrator & has done pretty good job as CM.

I agree, you can't blame one person for NOT being able to stop suicide bombings. But there are a lot of things Sharif can do to improve security in Punjab.

Excuse me as I am also derailing the thread, but really people are justified to ask today that why tax payers have to spend a huge amount of money on our armed forces who can not capture 2/3000 armed men of TTP and Baitullah Mehsud whose exact location is known to everyone....or is it what Americans are saying now that they are actually supported by our own army men...otherwise their survival against more than half a million Pakistan army is something one can not really understand..
Whatever the case is a united political leadership can be more effective against some rogue army men (and I believe these men are not even under the control of Kiyani). I hope Sharif brothers and Zardari understand this now...

Lets just hope they can put the differences aside for a while and put their thick heads together and show some leadership on the real issues.

I remember seeing a thread about huge security arrangements for Shahbaz himself before he was disqualified, is he going to let those police officers focus on city/province security or is he going to bump-up security around himself?

Hope both parties workout their differences. We can't afford political destability, while mullahs are knocking at our doors. Let the elected officials work, else we will be back to shameful 90's. Only difference, is that disappointed people may elect mullahs, next time around, which is a very scary prospect, if you think about it.

Yes but all the judjes are from the same juditiary which was working before 16th March. Now it is a great decision, Everyone saying" Yeh Insaf ki fateh hay"
