brother desert has a general thread on pakistan railway for many months but i specifically wanted to open a thread to congratulate on this initiative Green line train. i have criticized many of PMLN activities as well (solar plant, LNG deal) but we shd also congratulate good initiatives
saad rafiq has turned around pak railway for most part and even opponents have accepted it. great job saad. Pak railway was in such a bad situation.

Trains are going fully packed and 90% on time. Freight Operation, the main portion of Railway Revenue will cross Rs.8.5 billion this year which was only Rs. 1 billion in FY 2012-2013. 11 Stations of Railways will be upgraded by next year and Marketing Dept. trying to use Railways Stations for advertisements to generate revenue. 55 new locomotives of superior performance purchase in pipeline from GE or GM.
Railways integrated sub continent and its people from 1853 with Lahore Railway Station started its operation in 1861. I have seen rail tracks on Lahore Railway Station with** 1894, 1904 or 1912 **written on them and still in use. This great asset of Pakistan and the romance associated with it must be revived at every cost !
