Status of Indo-Pak Peace Process

After months of cold and stern stances from both sides, suddenly the air appears warm between the two nations.

After Mush met Singh few days ago there were positive statements and sentiments issued by both sides leading to re-ignition of hope. But the ppl of South Asia have seen many such sudden warmths and equally sudden chills. But hope still remains. Let’s see what become this time. The Pak foreign office yesterday formally declared that;

“Peace process with India (has been) restored”

Re: Status of Indo-Pak Peace Process

Manmohan Singh has dropped all the anti-Pakistani rhetoric that he adopted after the terrorist attacks in India, especially as Musharraf had put him on the spot in front of the world to produce the proof. Now he is all praise for Musharraf and Pakistan again, while being blasted by Indian political parties for having sold out. But it demonstrates once again that Musharraf has turned around the situation to Pakistan's advantage, and I have no doubt that as we approach 2007 a Kashmir settlement will be reached.

**In other words Kashmir will settle deeper under the sheer weight of the ever increasing numbers of the occupying Indian Army..:( **
