Status of Husband in Islam

I’ve heard that if human worship was allowed in Islam, wives would have to worship their husbands. Tell me, is this in the Quran or in the Hadith (if this is true at all)? Also, if it’s a hadith, is the Hadith completely proven, BEYOND ANY DOUBT? **Do both Shia and Sunni agree with it?

**Personally, I find this VERY ODD, so please can someone explain the whole thing to me?

Thanks

Re: Status of Husband in Islam

there is no such reference in quran, and since hadith is supposed to explain the quran, it is obvious that any hadith implying to do so will render the hadith invalid, plainly and simply because any form of worship of physical object as god is consequently forbidden in islam.

Thanks for the reply CB. It was very helpful :)

Also, can a moderator please move this to "Religion and Scripture", I posted it here by mistake.

Re: Status of Husband in Islam

This is not Quran its a Hadith, I know shias agree to this and i am 90 % sure sunni's agrees with that too.

Here is shia source

Imam Sadiq (a.s.) says that a group of people paid a visit to the Messenger of Islam and said, “O Prophet of Allah, we have seen such people who prostrate before each other.” The Holy Prophet (s.a.w.s.) answered, *“If at all I could permit prostration before anyone except Allah, the Creator, I would have ordered the wives to prostrate before their husbands.”
