Static Clothes

Do any of you have tips for getting rid of staticity (sp?) from clothes? I have certain items in my closet that just cling to me. I’ve tried using static guard but that only works temporarily.

hahaha Mehnaz. Normally if your body is moisturised or powdered your clothes don't stick to you. But no matter what I am wearing 97% of the times I get static shocks while opening/clsoing doors. There is nothing I can do to stop it. I literally stand outside stores afraid to touch the door handle and when I finally do I still get a static shock. This once this guy standing inside started laughing and when I got in he is like...you still got it didn't you! Ofcourse I did!

Femme, I am static free. On the contrary, I'm centrifugally magnetic.

Mehnaz, install a humidifier in your closet. It will bring humidity down and thereby decrease staticity.

I would enjoy a bit of static too fg. Let's work on it.

Femme, my pants are literally clinging to my legs. They are flared pants so it looks kinda ridiculous. Khair, I knew putting them on that I would have this problem .... but these pants make my backside look amazing so I wore them anyway. :p

The moisture point is true though. Usually, I put lotion on but didn't have time today.

Picture please

^ only for me mehnaz

do wat ms ff does go around touching doors that will solve the problem :stuck_out_tongue:

I heard that it's made worse when you wear clothes with nylon or polyester mixed thread.

It's quite possible Brit Chick. These are suede pants and they always cling.

I hate static!!! So what I do is when I get out of the car, I touch my knee with car's door that takes care of the static that has buildup while sitting in the car! It doesn't hurt and i can touch any door/metal after that. :D

Mehnaz, when you posting pics of your tussie? I am interested in seeing the pants.

abay..humidifier decreases humidity?

use fabric softner in washer and dryer sheets in the dryer it makes it static free and easy to iron

Mehnaz,

You sure it's not faux suede? I can't imagine suede having static.
If the normal static guard doesn't work....try this little trick I use.....keep a sheet of fabric softener with you in your purse....preferably in a ziploc bag to keep it from drying out.....if you feel static getting the best of you, rub the sheet on the inside of the garment and a little on your skin. It should do the trick.

i hate it…:snooty:

everytime its in my hair when i straighten them even if i put conditionaer on…uuurrrgggghhh…aaajiz aa gaye houn mien…especially if i were a scarf round my neck…
