My fellow Gupshupians, I’d like to start off by congratulating the team that upgraded Gupshup recently, they deserve a pat on the back for their efforts as they are the physical backbone of the site.
That done, it’s important to address the quality of threads that have been produced as of late, in a word, soggy. Yes I have said it, the threads as of late have been soggy, the insults have been soggy, the taunts have been soggy, the headlines have been soggy. Friends soggy simply does not cut it, soggy simply becomes a pile of mush and no one wants to trek through mush.
That’s why I’ve designed S.O.G. or Sign On Gupshupians. S.O.G. is organization who’s comprised of the most elite Gupshup members who are alerted when such soggy threads are posted and in turn sign on and use their skills to save the thread. While this action is late by the grace of God/Allah/Jesus/Terrell Owens may it not be to late.

How dare you lastknightess, let me tell you a story about T.O.
....
One night a man had a dream. He dreamed
he was walking along the beach with Terrell Owens.
Across the sky flashed scenes from his life.
For each scene he noticed two sets of
footprints in the sand: one belonging
to him, and the other to Terrell Owens.
When the last scene of his life flashed before him,
he looked back at the footprints in the sand.
He noticed that many times along the path of
his life there was only one set of footprints.
He also noticed that it happened at the very
lowest and saddest times in his life.
This really bothered him and he
questioned Terrell Owens about it:
"Terrell Owens , you said that once I decided to follow
you, you'd walk with me all the way.
But I have noticed that during the most
troublesome times in my life,
there is only one set of footprints.
I don't understand why when
I needed you most you would leave me."
Terrell Owens replied:
"My son, my precious child,
I love you and I would never leave you.
During your times of trial and suffering,
when you see only one set of footprints,
it was then that I carried you."
I’d agree with Ohioguy… “soggy” is probably not the right word (OG, is ‘flacid’ even a word? You probably meant ‘flaccid’). The closest word I can think of is “inane”, and I being charitable. I gave my thoughts about the state of WA in my earlier thread. Fortunately the mod/Admins have taken note and have started cleaning up the pathetic pissing competitions going on there. Feedback is again coming back to life, where people are upset over the loss of their “valuable contributions” (I am being charitable yet again). Good news is, that from the state we were in since last week, we can go nowhere but up.
Gupshup doesn't really fit under the definition of state..to quote David Frum
it's.. authority is instead one of those ineffable mystical mysteries. The authority's existence cannot be perceived by the senses and exerts no influence on the events of this world. Even the authority's most devout hierophants retain the right to disavow that authority at whim..
Are you suggesting that there has been a Viagrafication of WAs so that it can rise up from its current flaccid state?
Frankly, I am very disappointed in UTD’s personal attack upon Soggy. In the 3+ years I have been an active participant here, I cannot recall one negative post from that fine Guppy. Soggy has discharged his/her responsibilities as a Guppian with dignity and grace and should have received a seat of honor in UTD’s visitors box during the State of the Gupshup speech. I’m certain that Soggy would have embraced other honored guests at appropriate times bringing tears to all of our eyes.
