Are they improving at all or still melodramatic unrealistic acting and storylines?
Really miss the old PTV days.

Re: State of Pakistani dramas
Majority of drams are unrealistic story-lines...
Re: State of Pakistani dramas
I hate those dramas, they suck, My mom watches them like crazy and so does my sister. My mom sometimes cry while watching drama and when I catch her, she pretends it never happened lol. I asked her isn't it depressing to watch a couple fight on TV? Don't you have enough fights with dad? and then she smacks me.
I think Paki dramas are depressing, have way too much fights and not very civil.
Re: State of Pakistani dramas
pretty much the same stories in every drama, some pyar gone wrong or someones parents having too much control.
pyar kisi se hota ha aur shadi kisi aur se hojati hai and all that
Or the controlling type moms of guys mostly who can't let go of the control
HumTV is just copying stories from women's digests and making onto TV.
PTV in old days was original we miss that, now dramas are like going to 50+ episodes and they keep dragging the stories, and now there's too much hugging and all that whereas before it wasn't. Now it gets awkward watching them with family sometimes.
Thanks to youtube, we just watch a lot of old PTV dramas online for nostalgia.

Re: State of Pakistani dramas
Hmm....I believe the last Pakistani drama I watched pretty much till the end was...Numm. :/
I've been out of the loop with Pakistani dramas. I enjoyed the ones that were based on Umera Ahmed novels such as Zindagi Gulzar Hai, Shehr-e-Zaat, Dur-e-Shahwar, and Malaal. Umera's got her share of critics but I feel that her stories provide some food for thought. Malal is perhaps my favorite out of her novel-based dramas. Then there were others that were just wayyy tooo filmi..can't remember their names; that's how unremarkable they were.
The older PTV dramas have some gems among them...but some of them were tooo long. I don't like it when directors get too attached to their shows...the longer your make it...then you start jumping the shark...and it becomes a drag.
Re: State of Pakistani dramas

Haven't seen bin roye...don't feel motivated to do so. I was a never a fan of humayound Saeed.
