okay this is my story , my wedding is in mid september and i had initially (5 months ago) decided to get my shaadi + walima dress from a online designer (which i shall just not mention) but during the whole finalisation process they dissapeared for some unknown reason , so i decided instead of waiting around for this person to come around i should completely change my order .
I found another designer(4 months ago) and thankfully she put my mind at ease, with the design i wanted aswell as color scheme and price . Everything was going great, we had finished deciding some minor details of the dresses and she had sent of a fabric sample to me (Australia).The plan was once i receive the samples i would then be able to choose the shade i wanted and she would start on the dress immidietly .
Heres the unfortunate bit … the samples still havent arrived (been about 3 weeks) , i know it’s not her fault , because this is second time a parcel from pakistan hasnt arrived on time for me(from a diff designer), right now new designer is also unable to be contacted (vacation) and im not blaming her for anything but i’m starting to really freak out , there’s exactly 2 months and 2 weeks left till my big day . Although the designs i wanted have all been finalised with her the fabric sample STILL havent arrived , and if i can’t rely on a tiny package to arrive on time … what hope do i have that the wedding dresses will arrive at all :(((((
new designer is scheduled to arrive back on the 21st of this month , she said she can get the dress done in 3-4 weeks which means the dresses will be done my mid to late august , my wedding is in mid september !!! THATS LEAVING ABOUT 2-3 WEEKS FOR POSTAGE AND THERE SEEMS TO BE REALLI REALLI BIG CHANCE PACKAGES JUST DONT COME AT ALL TO ME I FEEL LIKE BREAKING DOWN AND CRYING IN DESPAIR
please make dua the dresses come on time and are stunningly breathtaking

and on top of that my in-law gave me the responsibility of selecting both shaadi and walima dresses which also doesn't help calm the situation that they keep asking me when the dresses will be coming .... little do they know order hasn't even began production :((

why didnt you just see a picture of the fabric from proto? inshallah your suit will be made. but personally, i wouldn't post this online right now as proto has many happy customers and i don't see anything good coming out of this thread.

I'm assuming you knew Proto would be on vacation - she was pretty clear about that with me when I inquired about placing my order with her two weeks ago -
I havent even officially placed it but we've discussed and are in talks - When someone reputable like proto says she'll make it in time and you two have reached an agreement, there should be little to no worry on the topic of whether or not the outfits will be made on time.
I think your main concern is shipping issues to Austrailia - which isnt in Proto's hands....

^ A word of advice, it time is such a concern, DO NOT RELY on Pakpost - ask her to Fed/Ex or DHL the parcel. The delivery times are a lot shorter (4-6 days) and tracking it is a lot more reliable.
Mama sent packages via PakPost and two came in 15-16 days and the third in 24 days. The worst bit was that despite having a tracking number - it wasn't trackable until it hit customs in Canada. So for 3 weeks we had no idea where the parcel was.
Where you've spent so much money on an outfit, it's worth a few extra thousand rupees to have peace of mind and reliable delivery services.

i've made it clear in my post i in no way hold proto responsible for current drama's and if anyone read's my post that is made very clear.....my issue is with the pak-australia postage system ,
that's what worry's me because the fabric samples had been sent with DHL and should have been here 7 days ago :( has anyone had experience using postage from pakistan to australia ???? people keep sayng DHL takes 3-4 days but i just don't see that happening :((((

^ Don't you have a tracking number? If it was sent via DHL, you should have gotten a tracking number and that should tell you where the samples are right now.

that's the crappy bit as i can't ask the designer for the tracking number as she's currently on vaca . she did assure me before she left there would be enough time to make the dress and have it sent to me by early September but what i'd like to know is WHERE ARE MY FABRIC SAMPLES IF DHL IS SUPPOSED TO BE SO RELIABLE :(

omg guys she just sent me an email from medina telling me to contact the dhl office , my faith is somewhat restored in pak-aus postage ALHAMDULILLAH and inshallah everything works out for all the soon to be brides that like myself are in a bit of a stress street

Shabnaam, I sent it twice actually and I think the first one I sent should be sitting with your local DHL office as well :D It reached australia on 3rd day but there was a problem in the address. I think you should reconfirm your postal address for future references as that might be the reason for parcels not reaching to you in time.
