So my little guy is now 10 months old, Mashallah. Now I know that you’re typically not supposed to start giving them homo milk before their 1st birthday, and maybe even after that. My problem is that he doesn’t like drinking formula very much anymore. He’ll drink maybe about 14-15 ounces in a day, and I gotta hold him down to make him drink that too. I don’t strap him down, but you know get the idea ![]()
Now he eats everything from his baby cereal, to fruits and veggies and the stuff we eat (roti, rice, beef/chicken, etc). So I think what’s happened is that the taste of the formula is pretty bland now that his taste buds have increased, that he doesn’t enjoy drinking his milk anymore. He’ll prefer eating regular food, instead of drinking his milk.
I wanted to ask at what age did you start your children on regular milk? I thinking that maybe I should start a once-a-day feeding of homo milk, and see how that goes..and how he fares with it?
Or should I just wait out the last two months, and then give him the milk? He’s had regular milk here and there, having bites of cereal when I eat. So any suggestions? Oh, and I don’t know how far the allergy argument goes…that starting babies on milk earlier than you should, will cause them to have allergies to the milk at a later stage ![]()
