Starting new hobbies and meeting people

I have noticed that whether you begin a new hobby such as exercising in the gym or simply attending local functions like fashion shows, art exhibitions etc., you can run into all kinds of fascinating people. For a little while now, I’ve belonged to a gym and have recently attended 2 major fashion Fall '03 events in NYC. Luckily, I’ve met some wonderful folks and it’s good to know that despite the hustle and bustle of daily life, people can still squeeze time out of their busy schedules to mingle and have a good time.

:flower2:

That is correct. I have also been trying to visit some fashion shows lately but met with little success.

^And um...did you try wooing any of the models at the shows, Khanzada sahib? Hehe.

Khanu

Plz, stay away from Vinnie and Iraj, I bet both of 'em are taller then you. ( no pun intended)

Khanzada, attending the gym to check out hot boddies and in the process lose weight is definitely not a bad deal at all! Have shed 13 lbs. but keeping a strick diet is a must too, needless to say. Have my confidence and strong sense of self back once more, thank God. As for the Big Apple, I’ve been in NYC a lot the past few weeks and I must say, the city throbs day and night! It’s so alive, and I love it! Looking forward to some parties in the near future in Tribeca and a fashion show Downtown next month. In the meantime, enjoying the peaceful month of Ramzan, looking forward to Eid, and loving every sec of my life.

:flower1:

wow sounds like youre having a great time! id love to visit NYC some day, it sounds like my kind of city.

^Catty, don't forget to give a holler when you pop by, kiddo. You'll love NYC. There's a reason it's known as the world's capital.

:)

Thanks, that would be great :)

My husband just got an offer from a company based out of there..we're still waiting to hear back from another one b4 we decide but the fashion/shows/arts bit is what i'm really psyched about.

Of course, sweetipie i'll be doing alot of the above to meet people and make some friends out in the east coast....

Aww :flower1: mera matlab har giz aap ki dil azaari naheen tha. My apologies. Kehnay ka mansha yeh tha that the gals are pretty tall and you know one feels intimidated, irrespective of gender… happy now that all us small crockeries are in the same line…

Khan: It would give me a kick i won’t be able to take

Sweetiepie,
After i started my thread i saw your topic. Interesting!! you must live in the city because i live in the suburbs.

Which fashion shows have you been to.

Long island sucks :(

Absolutely right! I’m in the mid-town area right now.
Catty don’t forget me when you come over.

:rotfl:

There’s quite a lot going on in Long Island too.

Well, the traffic sure does!!
