You can go through a tafseer book with them as well. Something liek Ibn Kathir's tafseer is very basic and simple to understand and you can cater it to the needs and age of your child, what they are ready for, just take a few stories or lessons to share and as they grow older you can move to more detailed tafseer. Also there are alot of Islamic story books called like Quran Stories for Little Hearts, or something like that
