Re: Starting and Finishing the Quran at what age?
I agree with Maroush. Pakistani parents often rush their children to "finish" reading the Quran at such a young age. The result is that the child ends up not only not knowing how to correctly recite the Quran (with the correct tajweed), but also not knowing or understanding a single word of what Allah is even telling us in the Quran. When I have kids inshallah, I dont care how long it takes them to "finish" the Quran for the first time, as long as they are reciting with proper tajweed and are understanding the meaning and tafseer of what they are reading. Better to read two ayahs everyday and then discuss what it means and how to apply in our lives than to read 3 pages each day without it having any impact on you
