Perhaps Mods consider closing the thread started by those who
start a thread and do not take part in the discussion.
Few people seem to have this habit of starting specially inflammatory thread and disappear without excusing themsleves properly or ask for thread closure. Periodical participation by thread starter is important.

Although many love to start flaming threads and then disappear, such threads sometimes could turn out to be informational for others. Besides, I don't think it's within the moderators' powers to bring back the thread starters.
In addition, threads usually aren't closed or moved without a reason.
