So everybody wants to know that what kind of business one can start. I hope their can be wide range of business setups, one can start.
Please give your opinions about different kind of business setups in Pakistan keeping in mind the following budgets. Also let us know how much one can earn from that kind of business, what is the possible growth rate.
There can be different kind of investments one can be interested in.
1- upto 10 Lakh Pakistani Rupees (most people are interested in this category - small business)
2- 10 to 20 Lakh Pakistani Rupees
Please give positive suggestions.

My Idea is to open a small fastfood restaurant in Lahore/Gujranwala, please suggest regarding the foood etc and trends.
Your proper guide to other Pakistanis based on your experience will be your contribution in the development of Pakistan.
i support ur idea because its running business here all the time when u go to streets and every corner of the roads u may found restaurants cafes and sometimes u have to wait for turn, i am telling u about Karachi.
^ Anwer sahib, he is asking for business suggestions for people who want to come back to the mother land and setup business there instead of running it remotely.
No matter what biz u will start you will have to deal with two things:
Corruption
Government
You will have to pay every nook n cranny AND will have to do some unethical things yourself on regular basis. Deal with gov't all their BS paperwork etc (more so if you are starting a new one - this could take years).

I would recommend a solar farm as that will not only generate electricity for the nation, you (the investor) will get good return as Pakistan gets really good sunshine throughout the year and will be least dependent on other fuels to run the farm as well as no pollution for the environment.

This is a very good idea, buy some land in say south punjab region and farm electricity but unfortunately for this you would also need some 'connections'.
Also the investment amount OP mentioned may not be enough imo...for lahore atleast.

"connections" will be needed for almost all type of business setups. From what I gathered you can generate about 50kW in around 6000 sq ft of area (or 350kW in 1 acre of land). 350kW can power around 200-250 houses I think (depending on whether they have AC or not).
If not this, then one can start with installing solar systems for houses. 1 sq ft can generate 8.33 watts, a 200 sq yard house with roof space of about 50 sq yard can generate 3750 watts which is enough to power lots of fans, bulbs even air conditioner!

Yes, with a market and work force of 180 million people Pakistan has vast opportunities of business generation/investment. Having said that you have to be careful with your hard earned money.
