Is it not working? What's wrong with it? Where are you located?
I've been thinking of getting one of these but don't know if it really works in the NE part of US. Maybe I should do some research on it first.

Gensec: umm…pak vs saf matches are not on dish network, and are being broadcasted by direct TV instead…and direct TV has been down and out for a few yrs now, and the only workaround is using subs…
as for the fix, well, I had not heard of a starcruiser FTA receivers before…so I went to my usual source - dsscommunity.com, and found a fix under the “General other FTA” forum - here’s a link: http://www.dsscommunity.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=2616
u will need to register on the site…registration is free…and this site is a great source of information, and has fixes for pretty much any receiver…esp now that i found this no-name starcruiser 9000 on it, the credibility has gone up a lot

TofiBaba: i’ll make the same recommendation to u…checkout the site i listed above 
u’ll find everything on this site, from FTAs to Nagra ROM 10x card receivers…with dedicated sections for newbies…looking @ ur first post, i’m assuming u don’t know much bout all of this stuff 
P.S. i’m anticipating a lot of ECMs till the end of the world-cup, so it might be a lil frustrating cuz u’ll end up flashing ur receiver with a new BIN file every few days…assuming there is a fix out quickly after each ECM 
that gets tiresome after a while…so u might want to hold off on this till after the world cup…unless of course u were thinking of doing this specifically FOR the world cup

Yeah, u guessed right, I am pretty new to this. I did some research on it in the late 90's but then gave up. I am currently subscribed to Dish. So this would be a side thing. I have an old AOL dish (from when they were beta testing satellite internet) lying in my attic somewhere which i can setup for this and play around with it. Which receiver do you suggest i get?

TofiBaba: nowadays, Viewsat is making the best FTA receivers...awesome features, quick with the autoroll keys, loads up the EPG within seconds...also, over the last 1.5 yr, Viewsat has been the first to release a fix after each major ECM...and the regular fixes for these receivers are up quickly as well whenever they're needed...
so i'd recommend a Viewsat Xtreme...
