Star Trek

Anyone looking forward to the new Star Trek movie?

I am a big Star Trek fan…

Re: Star Trek

me me me :hula:
It looks really good.

Re: Star Trek

I am waiting for it too. I have watched every episode of Star Trek next generations series and the original series.

Also waiting for Terminator Salvation.

Good to know that man. I am a big fan too. In fact, we are planing to have a Star Trek Theme week, that may come in early/mid summer on GS. I will have the organizing committee contact you for your support.

I am going with a trek posse to watch this one at the Imax, first day first show, tickets reserved well in advance!!

I cant believe how well Paramount's been promoting this movie. From ads on Burger King to Facebook, they are now finally making sure that the franchise is more than just a cult based series. At the same time, I have a feeling the movie will stray away even further from Gene's original vision, primarily that of humanism that has been missing from most of the Trek movies. Nevertheless, this will blow the other kiddie sci-fi out of the stars! Just a few more days to go!

p.s. awesome summer lined up... wolverine, angels and demons, star trek, GiJoe, transformers 2, terminator 3!

Re: Star Trek

it looks a bit too much of a tweener movie to me.. the casting isnt good.

looks like a cross between star trek and the OC/90210.

Re: Star Trek

^ how is the casting not good? its actually perfect. Zack Quinto is probably the ONLY person in showbiz that can fill nimoy's shoes.

Re: Star Trek

they're all too young. kiddie trek. esp the one playing the captain

Zack Quinto's 32, chris pine's 28, karl urban's 36, Zoe's 30, simon keg's almost 40... I dont think you can call them 'kiddy'... Also, we cant have old bald foggies play the role of Starfleet Academy graduates... As much as I am loyal to the original series, I didnt see anyone complain about casting.

p.s. its important for the cast to be good looking, chiseled bodies, good hairstyles, and a graceful personalities. This is why only the 'best' make it to Starfleet :) (not to mention making it a box office success for the franchise to live on).

Good reboot to the franchise.

Re: Star Trek

holy crap i thought they were teenagers. now i have another reason to hate the casting

Re: Star Trek

hun ki hoya?

how very rude!!

how could you forget Harry Potter?! :emmy:

In fact, Harry Potter should be on top of all your lists :snooty:

Re: Star Trek

^ oops my bad! i like HP! seriously! :D Wasnt the original release date last october or something?

Re: Star Trek

^ Yes. Near my birthday (Which is in November) :frowning: Alas no, silly people…and then they change major parts too

Nevertheless, I shall still watch every single millisecond of it =D

Live long and prosper!

Re: Star Trek

OMG, Spock and Uhura were doing it all this time :) :) kinda hot

Re: Star Trek

Movie was intensely amazing!!!! review tomorrow, mesmerized but tired!

Re: Star Trek

^^ how many people dressed up? and was the theatre packed?

Re: Star Trek

^ I went to the Imax, so it was expected. Many came wearing Gold commander Trek shirts from the 60s TOS show. I actually dressed up like Spock :hehe:! Some had phasers and communicators on their belts too :hehe:

The best part was the girls wearing ‘female’ outfits from the TOS show; in the older show women wore less
