No she was the sole host. actually the full name of the program was ' Heart to heart with Samina Peerzada'. In Sunday Lounge, she accompanied her husband usman Peerzada. Its amazing that real life couple have amazing reel life chemistry too and almost all the project they did together were success including Darya, Hisaar, Karb, Karrobi, Sofia and latest Rangeel pur.
yes peerzada family is doing great job in performing arts since many years. Samina’s father in law, rafi peer was a pioneer of theater in india but moved to pakistan after partition and became pioneer of performing arts in pakistan.

I remember one of Samina Peerzada's interview where she told that Rafi Peer used to give more importance to Bahus over sons and he somehow continued his work even after being blind in his last days.
My personal favorite performance of Samina Peerzada- Drama Karrobi, where she played a widowed nurse with two children, who fell in love with a soldier on Dhaka front in 1971 war. later , she got married to the soldier (played by usman Peerzada) when he returned after getting freed from Indian jails, but her children are not ready to this marriage.
Beautiful script and wonderful acting
The drama was written by : Dr Denis Issac, who later wrote scripts of Sofia, Karb and Samina first directorial movie Inteha.
There was always a dearth of female actresses on PTV Peshawer and PTV Quetta. They used to cast actresses from Karachi, Lahore centres in their dramas. Samina is the actress, who worked from Lahore, Peshawer (karrobi), Karachi (katputli, after she shifted to Karachi).
From Quetta centre, she did a serial ‘Chakar e Azam’ in 1990s, where she played role of Hani (famous Baloch folklore character of Hani-Shah Murid)
There is a trend in Indian-Pakistani media that viewers barely accept an actress in role of wife of an actor who has played her brother. In recent time, we see few artists / production teams to break such taboos like Aishwarya playing Paro in Devdas against Shahrukh Khan, after playing sister of SRK in Josh or Amina Sheikh playing sister of Adeel in Daam and then playing as couple in More Piya and now Silwaten.
Samina Peerzada broke this taboo in 1980s, when in some movies like MukhRa, Gori diya JhanjhraN she played sister of Nadeem and then played wife in Bazar e Husn and Bulandi.
(Please bear with Babra’s dance)
A plus point, one can realise after watching these songs, that she was able to picturise songs in sober way
Another memorable performance by Samina Peerzada. Amjad Islam Amjad’s Fishar, where she played sister of Toqeer Nasir and Waseem Abbas. Interestingly she played wife of Toqeer Nasir in ‘Darya’ and love affair of Waseem Abbas in ‘Raat’, but the chemistry between these actors as brothers and sister in Fishar is amazing, which catches attention from the very first scene of the drama :k:
