Star of the Week - Muhammad Qavi Khan

Normally, we remember our stars when they die. I thought, we should pay tribute and discuss the works of our legends, so starting this thread.

Muhammad Qavi Khan is one of the versatile actors of Pakistan, who have worked for Pakistan’s drama / movie and theatre industry for more than a half a century.

A legend relives the journey of his life – The Express Tribune

So whats your favorite role by Qavi Khan? Mine is from the serial Hisaar ( where he played role of an industrialist financially stable, but emotionally suffering from guilt).

Do you think our legends like Qavi Khan are being given roles worth their talent?

Re: Star of the Week - Muhammad Qavi Khan

We need some senior viewers here who can pay him better tribute .

Nice thread By the way and yes i agree it should be done in their lives atleast they can feel happy about it.

:hmmm:let’s see you made me see Daur-e-junoon and i can say without any doubt that he performed brilliantly in it.

I don’t see him in dramas anymore except for small bits here and there like in Mataye jaan hy tu he made a guest appearance may be he was neglected or may be he is enjoying a retired life.

Re: Star of the Week - Muhammad Qavi Khan

I saw him some below standard roles like a Tamashbeen in ‘Dil Diya Dehleez’ and an awara budha in Faseeh Bari Khan’s crap ’ kaRakti bijliyan / Romance in ranchor lines’. I didn’t watch serial ‘ek nai cindrella’, but he was in that drama too.

Re: Star of the Week - Muhammad Qavi Khan

So what could be the reason behind it? why is he working in such dramas? He is a senior actor a Legend , he can differentiate between a good and a bad script, can't he?

Re: Star of the Week - Muhammad Qavi Khan

I think he has been through thick and thin in his life. he produced some movies and lost his finances. Anwar maqsood hilighted his postilion in his long play ’ Mirza & Sons’.

(watch last 30 seconds of the clip)

Another reason is today’s formula based scripts, which didn’t have much place for the character roles for these senior actors.

Re: Star of the Week - Muhammad Qavi Khan

Well in an interview to wasi shah he said about some below the mark work that "sometimes you dont want to work on a particular project but you have to bcoz of friendship with producers/directors."

Re: Star of the Week - Muhammad Qavi Khan

One of the memorable roles in Muhammad Qawi Khan’s career was an honest police office in Rashid Dar’s ‘Andhera Ujala’.

The series was followed bu long play ‘Ragon main Andhera’, where Rahat Kazmi had played the role that afterward played by Muhammad Qavi Khan. The serial did created a soft corner for police force and awareness of their problems. The series was successful and was followed by some lollywood movies and another serial ‘Waqt’ by Amjad Islam Amjad dealing with police force.

Re: Star of the Week - Muhammad Qavi Khan

Re: Star of the Week - Muhammad Qavi Khan

Another memorable performance by Muhammad Qavi Khan in Amjad Islam Amjad’s long play ‘Ghanti’

Muhammad Qavi Khan did wonderful job in portraying the frustration of retired life and feelings when your friends and people of your age dies one by one. Beautifully written and wonderfully executed work.

Re: Star of the Week - Muhammad Qavi Khan

After a long long time, Muhammad Qavi Khan was given a role where he got chance to show his talent . Mother’s Day special ’ O meri Ammo’ by Fasih Bari Khan about maamta of a transgender. Beautiful acting.
