Standing up for people

Have you ever seen someone get treated poorly and regretted not defending them?

Today I went into the town centre and I visited a food stall. There I saw the manager who is a short fellow berate this poor young chap. It seemed like it was this young man's first day at the job so obviously he was still settling in and familiarizing himself. This young chap just responded politely but not assertively as this short man was so combative and rude.

I wish I said something to the manager and explain that as a customer I don't appreciate the tone and attitude he has for his employees, as if this is his attitude towards his employees in front of customers then when I leave I'll wonder what rude thoughts he'll have about me.

Yes I understand that he'll need to guide and instruct his workers but say it respectfully

That abusive person was a reflection of that organization, I am sure that the manager would not be any different. Short and weak men go on the biggest power trips. You have good values and a kind heart.

Yes, I do see people getting mistreated. And yes, I regret not defending them. Sometimes my inaction was due to my lack of understanding of a situation and taking too much time to react, sometimes I was really powerless to take any action, sometimes I was running late, sometimes the risk to my own safety was just too much so I stayed out.

For example, a few months back on a freezing January night a couple in my neighborhood was being evicted by police. The lady was pregnant, the couple's belongings were on the sidewalk and they were having too many bad lucks one after another. They were merely a few hours over their deadline but no one was showing any compassion, especially the landlord. I tried to help the couple by arranging AirBnB but it didn't worked out. On top of that the police arrested the man after few minutes because of some warrant in his name from 10 years ago. The pregnant lady was all on her own with all her belongings on the sidewalk while it was so cold that it was hard to stay outdoors. I felt the police was getting irritated by my presence and I didn't wanted to get into trouble so I backed out. Don't know what happened after that but everyone and the belongings were gone after few hours.

Actually, I have experienced this, when I was a trainee baker, I was starting my career as a baker, the bakery was in partnership between two bosses, one boss who hired me as a trainee chef, he Takes care of me He was very nice but secondly he doesn't even respond to my Salam.
At that time their attitude was high in the sky.
