Stalling downloads-Vista

Hello :slight_smile:

This is for the Vista users, but others may suggest as well. I’m running Vista Ultimate with SP1 installed, os fully updated to the current fixes. The problem is that the downloads sometimes stall half-way and i have to restart the download. The same issue goes for video streams.
I’m going through my router (hard-wired to pc). But if i connect to the DSL modem directly, there seems to be no problem at all.

What could this be?

I’ve already checked QoS Packet Scheduler to see the bandwith limit, and it shows ‘Not configured’.

Please help :frowning:

PS: I’ve done a speed test and it seems to be pulling the same as it always has. The problem surfaced just recently.

Does it happen with every download or randomly?

try a different router if you can. I have a router that does that too ..and another that doesnt (really) do that as much.

And yes I am talking about vista...but dont think it has anything to do with vista.

Randomly…but quite frequent though :bummer: Especially with those big downloads (15MB+)

I would suggest upgrading the firmware of your router to the lastest one available through the manufacturer.
