Does anyone know how to get blood stains out of clothing???
Re: Stains
ok, do I use detergent also mixed with teh cold water?
Re: Stains
:S dont knw tht much hon, when the stain is fresh i use cold water and salt and it comes off. then after u can wash it as normal with ur detergent...
btw have u tried Vanish?
Re: Stains
Oh gosh, the stain is two days old already. I was planning on just washing it altogether with the rest of my laundry tomorrow, but decided maybe its better I hand wash it. Ok ill try the salt and cold water thing anyway and then let it soak for a bit in detergent and see what happens.
Man and its my favorite shirt too! :(
Re: Stains
Run under very cold water till soaked thoroughly. Rub bar soap into stain, until it becomes saturated with the soap. Let it sit overnite and then put into washer with like colors. After the wash cycle is done, check the item to see if the stain came out. If not, repeat the process - DO NOT put into dryer!!!!!!!!! When stain is out, THEN put into dryer.
Re: Stains
wot color is ur shirt???
if its white use bleach.....but there is also colored bleach too....put detergent and colored bleach in old water n soak it over night stain will disappear like magic...:)

Thanks for all the tips guys. I let it soak in cold water for an hour with regular detergent since it was a purple shirt and then hand washed it. The shirt is as good as new ![]()

lol totally off topic but this reminds me of a funny story… I was taking this class where they asked us to pretty much ‘make’ our own printed circuit board. These days its all done through automated cam machines, but back in the good ol 50s and 60s it was done by hand so for fun we were revisiting that.
For etching, we had to use ferric chloride (a bucket full). I was doing this at 3am at night without my parents knowing about it. In the process I tipped the entire bucket on the floor! There was ferric chloride all over, and it turned RED! This stuff stains pretty bad too! At that time, there I was with this blood like red stuff all over my clothes, my hands and the FLOOR! Now we had nice marble tiles on the floor and my first priority was to clean this mess up without my parents knowing about it. While I was doing it, my dog kept watching me (from a distance) and then started barking. My mom came down and at first when she saw me, at first she was scared as hell! She didnt know what I was up to and thought I murdered someone, and was now trying to get rid of the blood! haha

Re: Stains
k…so what do I do to get blood stains out of my good sheets from Noor’s nosebleeds?
and what if the stains have set in without being pre-treated?
hubby changed bed sheets and decided not to tell me that they were covered in nosebleed…now they have been sitting in the hampter.
:madashellwalasmiley:

OK this is what you do, soak the stained part in a non chlorine bleach for an hour. Then wash. Or, soak in vinegar for an hour, then wash. Or, just buy new sheets!
