I have stained my white kitchen countertop with water I believe.. I didn’t realize that the dish drainer had a leak and when I did my weekly cleaning today, I saw a big yellow stain underneath it.. I am gonna sound very silly for saying this but it feels like water dried up there.. I know it doesn’t even make sense but what else could it be!?!?
I tried windex and vinegar/water and scrubbed it really hard but it hasn’t even faded.. I need to get rid of it asap because first it’s a rental unit and second because I just can’t stand it..What can I use to get rid of this stain on a laminated countertop?
You an try Soft Scrub, the one with bleach in it. Its a thick white paste with granules in it. There are a couple of different types, just make sure you get the one that has bleach in it.
If that doesnt work, you can try Tilex. Not sure if it will work on water stain but its heavy duty stuff, your eyes will water from the fumes cause its so strong.
Clorox should have worked...I think...
apply it to the stain and let it sit for a few minutes...I have removed quite a few stubborn stains with it ....
As Mo3 said,Tilex should work too...
MO3..I have tried Easy Off for the stove and that thing is sooo strong that sometimes I am coughing and sneezing for hours after that so I may stay away from TileX but will definitely look into Soft Scrub. :-)
Chipsy.. I told you I tried the bleach free Colorox and it just faded a lil bit.. I will get the one with bleach and hopefully stain will be gone.. thanks.
In removing stains from my laminate countertops, you can use these procedures: Just mix baking soda with enough water that will form into paste. Apply it on the stained area for about 2 hours then wipe it of with soft cloth. You may also use nail polish remover for ink stains and bleach for chemical stains. Always, make sure to wipe off spilled foods right away keep your counter clean and stained free. Though it is still best to use products that are approved by your fabricator.
