back in the days it used to be very colorful here on special occasion like eid and 14th aug. banner competitions, theme, rotating banner on top, dedicated threads in each forum relevant to forums theme. lots of active participation from mods and users themselves.
where did it all go?

It may be because Eid and 14th August were one after the other, within a week. This is just an excuse on my part. I know what you're talking about.
InshaAllah we will try to be better prepared, and commemorate all major holiday with more fervor going forward. Members ideas are always welcome, and team members always seek to work with members on various projects. Everyone's encouraged to forward their ideas/suggestions because we're all from among each other.

Public to be blamed too, for the lost of passion. We used to work very very hard for 14th of Aug. Banner competition, Avatar change promotion, signatures, dedicated threads, special documentaries upload, and who can forget the GSTV transmission that Khumar, Crescent and Phatima worked on so beautifully. Problem was that mods used to work like crazy but the traffic never picked up in those threads. Only mods themselves were participating.
We can all pick things up again. We have many special days coming up. Lets make it happen gang. Lets be one united nation, at least on GS :D

We had special thread in history Forum for 14th August, we had favi milli songs for 14 August in pak music section, we had discuSsion on independence day programa in showbiz section, we had independence day arts in Canvas, we had images for independence day in image section, i also saw a thread on 14th August in AV

Last year, we at All Views administered a quiz on Independence day. At least 15 people attended. The honor code was followed. Everyone answers w/o referencing Internet. We recognized 1st, 2nd and 3rd places. And had some fun and learnt something in the process.
On 2nd thoughts, the turnout of 15 (12 if you exclude the Mods) was quite disappointing.

Queen_24 and DA, while i do commend the efforts by you in your respective forums with the threads that you mentioned, I still miss the festive and celebratory atmosphere all around GS. TLK has alluded to it, thats what is missing.

just goes to show that those efforts really are appreciated by dedicate members.
it's true....this has been a particularly hectic year.......not enough planning went in so we didn't see the results that we are used to.
let's put our shoulders to the wheel again folks......in Sheeda's name!!!
And please try to get the essence of my post. I am saying that admin team felt disappointed for the lack of participation from members (I am talking about my days) and for one event, we even decided that instead of us taking lead, to invite members to start special threads and we will stick them. That also did not work very well.

Sheeda, you should have opened a thread yourself, that could have proven to be a catalyst for the same in other forums. At the end of the day its a team work between the mods and members.
