Have you guys every seen thos Pakistani stage dramas with ourrageously loud punjabi and women in gaudy makeup and costumes???
I see no humor in them. On top of it all, most of them take these weird breaks..where the actress randomly starts dancing…in a very vulgar manner! If there were in good shape it would be a littttttle better.
Do you see such forms of entertainment changing in pakistan any time soon?
People who watch these criticize anything “western” but these shows are nothing to be proud of.
well thing is back in the day stage drama's were really hilarious. I havent watched any of them lately but I have watched a few while I lived in Pakistan and they were funny (shartiya mithay, miss kum kum etc). Now i think theyre mostly a mix of naach and vulgarity and they make the "voluptuous" women dance because well the crowd is all MEN - and farigh log farigh harkatein hi karte hain..
This form of entertainment will only change when people realize that it needs to change.. its the same with TV drama's. There was a time when you could sit and watch a drama with all your family members.. nowadays, kissing, hugging, holding hands, making lovey dovey gestures is all very very common, making it really hard to even watch a drama with your father.. They've adapted to the western culture and thats nothing to be proud of.. I miss the days of Dasht, Kashkol, Hawayein, Chand Grehan.. sigh when you would actually miss your homework for a 1 hr episode!
I watched a few Urdu stage drama’s. In the beginning of the 90’s some family members and friends brought stage drama’s which were funny, we watched them with the entire family. I liked the humor of some of them. I still prefer 80’s and some of the 90’s Urdu dramay, if I had to choose, those are better than the stage drama’s.

Well they were very very entertaining, I still watch few with nice cast. Although indeed vulgarity has taken over now even in their humor. Sometimes I search for old stage shows and watch them many times
as said it depends which stage show you are watching NOT all of them were bad.. and you also cant list those good comedy stage shows to the vulgar ones.
