Hello ladies,
I am back with another request from my Dubai/shj folks..
I need contacts for people who do stage design… freelancers or companies.. but looking for decent stage, not so expensive.. so please help me out!!

I look through the thread which had all the photos.. so got lot of nice ideas… but now need contacts to make them happen!!

other than that.. everything s kinda coming together will keep you all posted.

dubai has many wedding stage decorators but there are some really amazing organisers in sharjah. there is a market somewhere near the used car area called "yarmook" or smthng. ask "peking chinese restraurant" for their directions to make ur way to it. if peking is on your right, you've got to take the right turn after and keep moving straight till u pass the rent a car market, the wedding organiser market will start on its own.
roughly, the decorators start from 10,000 for simple stuff and move up to whatever depending on the stage you choose. this place we found at the market was starting from 5,000 and went all the way upto 100,000!!! they provide cards, video and photography services too, for 1500 per day! these ppl r professional, so dnt think they charge less coz they're ameteurs. the best part is, they dnt charge u on the basis of what stage u choose, u tell them ur budget and theyd fit any design to it!

Been there.. all the arabs are not even interested in attending us.
they are expensive.. their cards quality sucked.. so i can imagine their stage would be dissapointment too if we are looking for budget.. but stll 6000 dhs is expesve for me.

i cannot afford 10,000.. i need to get it done in 2000-2500... i have limits.. so any help or contacts is appreciated

heya, try Ghadeer flowers in Deira, they are very reasonable and have good flowers and they do stages, plus they stick to their word and are reliable:

thanks bongi larki, i’m def looking at sharjah because i want alot of crystals etc, and the wedding planners in jumeirah charge a bomb, so im hoping shj will be good for that, do u remember the name of the reasonable shop? 10,000 is a bit too much for me!
and do you know if they do centerpieces too or just stage setups?

Sourskittle- going to meet Al ghadeer today.. but they don't do sound :( but going to go for prices:)
will keep you posted on that!

I have met freelancers who should be able to give me quotes.. if they are reasonable and wanting to meet them.. i shall pass their contacts!

my mum was dissatisfied with the beahviour of the arabs out there too but then we got lucky and found a shop that had a pakistani guy, the shop's name is "Al Mawkib"

we met faisal there and he was really helpful, if you're good at bargaining you will have your way with 2000 -2500.
yes, they provide centerpieces too, the invitation card samples also looked appealing and i was personally very impressed. their attitude was completely different from others.
if you're still having difficulty finding someone in your budget and worth the quality ur seeking, give them a call :)

I tried going there.. but there was no parking.. mom wasn't feeling well so we returned.. and well they did only stage and we were looking for sound as well.. finally my friend who is into event mgt.. returned from his trip and recommeded me a person and we got it all sorted out phew!!!

I am having my shaadi at Radisson Blu Deira Creek.. father got a good corporate rate so settled there.. central to everyone and my father says.. they got lavish buffet and really good tasting food...

I recommend contact Atlantis they gave us a good deal too.. but Radisson beat them for us...Park Hyatt is also very good but the lady was slow in reaching back to us..

Le Meridian at arport road was also very good... but they didnt have lavish buffet..

Millenium.. in shj was our second choice...

that's great i'm glad you found a venue! radisson is really good!
i've mailed atlantis, what was the best rate they could give you? on their site it says starting is 300dhs per head which is a bit much!

if you could please give me the contact of your event management person i'd really appreciate it!

What would be an ideal dholki and mehendi venue. I have aroun 100 to 150 guests, too much for home.
