I was having some trouble related to the present commandant of the Special Services Group (SSG), i dont recall his name but he was on TV during the army operation in Wana and he was a Major General.
SSG was long since under the command of a Brigedier and this was the first time i saw a Maj Gen who was commandant of SSG. Naturally i was confused.
Few days ago while searching on the internet i saw a price somewhere that SSG is now being upgraded to a division strenght. But at the same time it was written that new SSG unit would be raised from the present ones because these units already have higher strenght than a normal infantry battalion.
till now SSG consisted of 3 Battalions and One company (Musa Company which was detailed on the Anti-Terrorism duty).
to bring it to a division’s strenght it seems like 3-6 more commando battalions will be raised.
If anyone has any info regarding this matter kindly share it with all of us
