Srinath, the best bowler in the world

Srinath is the best bowler in the world :k:

come on yaar, seeker.

Sri is a fine, fine bowler. give him respect. not only is he a fine sportsman, he's a gentleman. I respect the guy even though I know most Pakistanis don't think highly of him.

On the other hand, Nehra and Zaheer need to go some distance before they can be consistent matchwinners like Srinath.

sambrialian yaar…thats what i said..:hehe:!!.. hes the best :k:

no one bowls the full-toss slower delivery as consistently as srinath does to the sloggers. he had poor ponting smacking maximum with one hand on the bat. ;)

sometimes he does lack the killer instinct that is supposed to be second nature to all fast bowlers.

But I think very highly of him because I've never seen him do anything untoward on the field. on top of that he's one of the finest performers with the ball.

Yes! Yateem is the man!

Re: Srinath, the best bowler in the world

this post should be in the joke section:rotfl::hehe::dixsi:

10 overs and 87 runs no wickets :teary3:

Yes I agree srinath is the best bowler in the world :)
87 runs!! in 10 overs! I could do better than that....

Zaheer the next Imran khan according to some indians also done very good especially those wides he was chucking.

and Nehra , well what can I say the star Indian bowler... tch tch

Re: Re: Srinath, the best bowler in the world

Agreed… You make Srinath to bowl in front of Saeed Anwar and look what wil happen… He was struggling while bowling to aussies…

Yeah we should give him respect. He is a better bowler in seaming conditions .

You must be joking… He bowled well in other matches… He was on his peak in 1995-1999 and he was a bowler who provides some assistance for the other bowlers to take wickets but now he’s finished and i think he is retiring..EVERY cricket cannot b like our WASIM AKRAM:jhanda:

there are better bowlers in the world of cricket than srinath, for example wasim akram, waqar younis, glen mcgrath, brett lee etc etc etc.

until srinath achieves what the likes of waqar, wasim and mcgrath and others have achieved in their careers (consistentcy) than he can be considered a good bowler or the best bowler bowler in the world so for the moment sorry mate he isn't good enough.

Srinath's line from the world cup final:

10-0-87-0

Fitting end to a pathetic career.

Taking 300+ wickets in ODIs is a pathetic Career, eh? At least he took those wickets

Srinath maynot be the best in the world but he certainly the best ever India has comeup with. I think he is a decent bowler and bowls good line & length, which is the maximum talent an Indian bowler can ever have.
But lets see if the next Wasim Akram the Nehra and the next Imran Khan the Zaheer can surpass Srinath.

Rizawn, Teaser, come'on guys, the guy didn't have any say in his built/body, don't make fun of Allah swt's creatures. Lets not get down to that level. If you really want to criticize him, do so for his bowling, action (may be), but not the face please. I hope you'll understand. Thanks.

when there is only one medium pacer in the team with new ball, then ofcourse he will end up taking a wicket automatically.

Did you see him bowling in the final? Becharay se ball hi nahee ho rahi thi, dar ke marey... His career came to a miserable end in that match, now he will dominate the south indian film industry, Btw, after Dev, hes probably the best indian fast bowler ever.

It seems big occasions get to him…

Cover story of the Indian SportStar says:

"The second occasion came at the Sabina Park in Kingston. Once again, on a responsive pitch, Srinath sprayed the ball and let the opportunity pass by. It was indeed a poor display as he pitched short and came in for punishment when he ought to have sent the batsmen packing. Once again he felt he had let the team down. And there were no two opinions about it. Srinath had looked off-colour. "

"Srinath has remained an enigma really. “I don’t know why he failed to realise his potential. It was just a matter of minor adjustments,” was Kapil Dev’s opinion. In fact, Kapil, who always maintained that Srinath was an underachiever, worked hard with him during his tenure as the team’s coach, but could not get him to strike the line and length he desired. “It’s strange that I’m asking him to bowl line and length, which is the basics of bowling,” Kapil lamented. But Srinath simply could not inspire himself. "

“You learn with time, and I’ve learnt with time. I’ve learnt to be patient and give my best under pressure,” commented Srinath as he reflected on his performance after returning from retirement. Pitching the ball in the right area with a clever change of pace has made Srinath a complete bowler now. "
