Me thinks this move is an open invitation to the next squad of retirees from Pakistan squad to join in on the commentary/official team and…and…and make the life beautiful for all of us. :smiley:

Imagine Inzamam sitting on the match referee seat one day (Oooooh, maybe another 30-40 years from now) and a batsman tries to “deliberately” play a ‘defensive’ stroke onto an incoming throw from the outfield. Shall we witness, for the first time in history, batsman being retained against his will at the striker’s end for “obstructing the field”? :smiley:

Remembering Java's favorite commentary moments:

1) Srinath thoroughly explains the definition of leg-before from his playing years: "Plumb in front would be my definition of leg before wicket" (Dino is speechless at this moment - No clue what to say or how to reply).

2) "Good to see Munaf Patel getting pace...He GRADUATES in pace."

3) "We have seen 2 great catches today, the one by Ian Bell was a great catch and the one by Strauss looked straightforward, but the fact that that batsman was Sachin, it became a great catch."

4) During the first test's session after tea, Irfan was blazing away in his spell, and off-went Srinath, "The important part was to decide when to attack the launch."

5) "This is the bestest wick*u*t."

And finally......

Chalo, atleast one less “burden” to hear as far as listening is concerned. Now, when can we expect Arun Lal to depart with Dhoni on the bike? Any guesses…
Also, Since Waqar is with Pak team now, I kinda miss his “outta” park comments. I believe viewers/listeners will have a nice break from Srinath’s “Java sentences.”
On a side note, Imagine Srinath and Inzi fighting over an “obstruction of the field” decision against Inzi. Inzi would probably ask, "Let me have you bowl to me. If you get me bowled(stumps all over the place), I’m out. If not, ““you are out.”” {SATIRE}
