i know rana had a single bad series - see you dont actually mind people going out of form - what pisses people off is the attitude - there were far too many loose deliveries due to his attempt to bowl fast....

With Shoaib back, we'll have a pretty formidable pace attack in the combination of Shoaib-Asif-Naveed. With good support from Razzaq, Afridi, Shoaib in ODIs and Danish in tests, we are set for at least a year....

Inzimam gets a lot of flak for his captaincy but today he changed Asif’s bowling end after he bowled five overs from the other end with no result. That change made all the difference. Good call :k:

Unbelievable stuff by young asif..mashallah……well that is the point……people with exceptional talent show it right away. Sami bhai would have needed at least 10 test matches to take 11 wickets (combined) whereas Asif took 11 in one match (and Inshallah he will grab 2 more tomorrow)…
Pakistan batting is not clicking at all and England tour is right there but I guess there is nothing serious to worry about. One should not forget that conditions in England are actually more conducive to batting than in Sri Lanka and Pakistani batsmen are usually done pretty well in England…

Controversies marred the second Test between Pakistan and Sri Lanka with Sri Lankan third umpire Asoka de Silva giving “Ashock” decision when asked to rule on a clear-cut run-out in the final session here on Monday, the opening day of the second and final Test.

Silva left everyone in a shock when he ruled Malinga Bandara, who was batting on 10, not out although television replays clearly suggested that his bat was on the line when Kamran Akmal took the bails off from a throw coming from the fine leg region.

The incident took place with Sri Lanka on 215-6 in the 75th over and struggling to play out the day. Thilan Samaraweera played a ball to fine leg and sent back Bandara who wanted a second run and while trying to regain his crease was caught short by a smart piece of fielding and Kamran’s quick reflexes.

Bandara himself had started to walk but then decided to wait for the third umpire’s decision. Replays suggested two things: one that Kamran had hit the stumps with Bandara short of his crease and when the bails came off Bandara’s bat was on the line which, under existing cricket laws, belongs to the fielding side and the batsman has to be given out.

The picture frames of the incident were also so clear that there was no chance of any benefit of doubt that could be given to the batsman, which made Silva’s decision all the more shocking. To add further rub salt on the Pakistani wounds, Bandara hit two boundaries off Umar Gul off the next two deliveries.

Asif may be backbone of Pakistani team in coming years... with one or two more bowlers from Junior team... This team is back....... :-)

^ Asif may remain one of frontline bowlers for sometime, but the batting continues to suffer. Inzamam's lack of runs is ruining it completely :(

Damn what a day…I went to sleep when Pak was 53/0 and what a turn arround. Pak losing quick wickets and than Asif showing his class…
