Screen queen’s television show finally airing!

Sridevi’s long-awaited television show ‘Humaari Bahu Malini Iyer’ will finally debut in India early next year. The sitcom was originally set to air during the middle of 2003 and shooting began almost a year ago. However it faced a series of delays and was also affected by the legal hassles of Karisma Kapoor’s TV show earlier this year because both shows are being made for the same channel.
Humaari Bahu Malini Iyer is being produced by Boney Kapoor’s production company and directed by Satish Kaushik. It chronicles the life of a south Indian girl married into a north Indian family. Apparently Sridevi is a delight to watch and her flair for comedy provides a highlight for the show.

Sridevi has no intentions of doing any films at the moment. Denying reports about her apparent return to films with a Telegu venture titled 'Johny', producer Boney Kapoor has stated that his wife is not doing any films, either Hindi or non-Hindi, as wrongly mentioned in the media.
There were reports that actor Pawan Kalyan tried to convince Sridevi into doing the role of his sister-in-law in 'Johny', but the actress turned it down. Sridevi has been rejecting offers from makers like Yash Chopra also. According to industry sources, she was approached by the director to play a role opposite Amitabh Bachchan. She thought over the proposal and agreed. But on second thought, she decided to opt out of the film. It is learnt from her family sources that the film star is now looking at the idiot box for opportunities to act and show her talent there. In this sector, she has already been signed by Sahara Television to do a teleplay, which will be on the lines of 'Here is Lucy'. The serial is likely to go on air some time in the beginning of the next year.
