COLOMBO (AFP) - Sri Lanka will tour Pakistan in October to play a limited-overs series also featuring Zimbabwe, Sri Lanka Cricket said.
The competition, to be played in the first half of the month, would see the countries face each other twice before the top two teams advance to the final, SLC chief executive Duleep Mendis said on Wednesday.
The exact dates and venues would be confirmed on the sidelines of the Asia Cup starting here on Friday, Mendis said.
The series replaces Zimbabwe’s scheduled Test tour of Pakistan in October which was cancelled after the International Cricket Council withdrew the African nation from all Test cricket for the rest of the year due to players’ revolt.
Mendis added that Sri Lanka will also play a Test series in Pakistan next February.
