Match Over!!
Re: Sri Lanka v Pakistan, 1st Test, Galle
Pakistan batting has shown that they can make any thing possible but the bowling was also not upto the mark.
Re: Sri Lanka v Pakistan, 1st Test, Galle
What a sorry bunch...
Re: Sri Lanka v Pakistan, 1st Test, Galle
Pakistan team do what they do best, conjure a defeat from nowhere.
Re: Sri Lanka v Pakistan, 1st Test, Galle
batting side of srianka was the big difference.

nowhere is the key..........
cricinfo reporting that the wicket was in great shape with no cracks ..........
no post match analysis required because you cant analyze anything on 5th day
Re: Sri Lanka v Pakistan, 1st Test, Galle
Great win for Lanka. An entertaining final day after dull first 4 days
One always felt that this was possible on the last day given our pathetic batting
Pathetic vulnerabilty (with the bat) once again exposed by Herath and co.
Re: Sri Lanka v Pakistan, 1st Test, Galle
Well, what one can expect?
In the team Pakistan only had 3 batsmen.
Yunis
Misbah
Asad Shafeeq
and batsman wicket-keeper
Sarfaraz
Except Sarfaraz, other three have first class averages over 45 ... rest of Pakistani test batsmen could not even have average above 45 in first class. Actually apart of Ahmed Shahzad whose average is similar to Sarfaraz, rest do not have first class average above 40.
What these mediocre parchi players can do in test ... other than occasional runs (when their supporters started dancing) but mostly low scores.
Sarfaraz has average above 40, but he is wicket-keeper.
Pakistan should include Fawad, Sohail (both have first class average above 55) and Umar Akmal (with first class average around 45)
Re: Sri Lanka v Pakistan, 1st Test, Galle
would make two changes for the next game
Shan Masood for Khurram Manzoor
Wahab for Talha
Re: Sri Lanka v Pakistan, 1st Test, Galle
Batting aside, Pak fielding was poor
Re: Sri Lanka v Pakistan, 1st Test, Galle
Actually, amongst Pakistani players who were given chance to play test and are playing, only 2 have average above 40 in test (Misbah and Yunus) ... rest have average below 40 (rather, around 35 ... including Umar Akmal). Only other player who played test and have average above 40 is Fawad (who also has second highest ODI average in Pakistan history, slightly below Zaheer Abbas) ... and is considered as world class fielder too. but he is out of test.
What an irony.
Re: Sri Lanka v Pakistan, 1st Test, Galle
i showed extreme reaction when fawad was rejected from the test side
lanat hai aisiee selection committee par....test cricket is written all over fawad...he has a temperament of a test player
he scored 160+ plus against lankans in lanka few years ago i guess..the guy averages above 50 in first class and you are not playing him? i mean really.....how jahil or selfish one needs to be to make such dumb selection moves
Re: Sri Lanka v Pakistan, 1st Test, Galle

Kiya, Shah Masood aur Wahab kee parchi strong hay?

Is he Pakistani or is from colony?
Re: Sri Lanka v Pakistan, 1st Test, Galle
Pakistan lost at Leeds in 2006 despite making 538 in the first innings!!
Again look at the difference between the 1st and 2nd innings scores

Fawad should be in the team but we can only pick from the available squad
Talha is a trundler and Khurram failed here twice
Besides L/R opening combo is always handy in any form of cricket

Brother, I am not talking about parchi squad, I am talking about team that should be a Pakistani team ... and should make Pakistani squad.
My question is that, how can anyone be in squad whose first class average and test average, both is below 40 ... and not only that, but these Parchi players are getting into squad years after years ... but at the same time a players (Fawad) whose first class average is highest ever in Pakistani history and also has test average above 40 (even when he did not get enough chance) ... whose ODI average is 46 (second highest ever for any Pakistani) when average of others are below 35 ... and yea, I am talking about a player who was first Pakistani player to make test century on debut outside Pakistan, still, he was only given 3 test matches and is not even in test squad today?
Why? Have you got any reason?
Can you tell me, what is the criteria of selecting players in squad ... if not tasub, subayeat, parchi, rushwat aur aqarwa-parwari?
Re: Sri Lanka v Pakistan, 1st Test, Galle
This is not the first time Herath has done this to us. for instance this game in 2009. Pakistan crumbled chasing 168 for victory
Scorecard - 2009-2010 Sri Lanka v Pakistan - 1st Test - 04/07/2009

Ofcourse gross injustice has been done to Fawad by the selectors.
There is parchi or sifarish in every walk of life in Pakistan incl. sports, politics, government jobs/promotions, military promotions, school/college/university admissions, allotment of plots, medical treatment, justice and tax concessions for the elite; you name it. Sadly you do need good contacts and connections to survive in Pakistan.
I am absolutely not denying it
