You got it wrong there .... Sri Lankan and Pakistani forces are not training "together" !!!!!! Sri Lankan armed forces have been asked to provide "training" to Pakistani armed forces on counter insurgency operations :D

As for supplying arms to Sri Lanka .... think Pakistan army did not think it through .... now they are running short of "equipment" :D

AB, this is plain old bickering at best.
Even an elementary level student of warfare knows that insurgencies are unique in many ways depending on the terrain, strategic location, the source of funding and training, and the political base etc.
Our hats off to S. Lankan army for their success against the Tamil terrorists. However expecting the same group of soldiers to fight in Wazirastan is a bit of a stretch. In fact those poor fellas may fail even in Jammu Kashmir let alone doing something big in FATA.
So take this whole news as a good will gesture by a newly-rejuvenated S. Lankan army. They need to be humble about this, because Tamils have a vast global terror-network. They may be down but not out. And S. Lankans may be looking at another 25 year war at some point in future.
Hate to say anything bad about S. Lanka Sinhala Buddhists. They in general are the most educated and most generous people in the whole of Sub-continent. Before they were overwhelmed with Tamil-Hindu/Christian scourge, these Buddhists were the major donors of human-eyes to Pakistan. Thus they were the only sub-continent nation who believed in large scale human-organs' donation.

Only Pakistanies can boast about their country's forces when they cannot maintain law and order within their own international border. Not only that they allow 10 people to arm themselves to the tooth and get training in their own country and sent them to the neighboring country to kill innocents.
