Umar Akmal struck a maiden one-day hundred and Iftikhar Anjum claimed five for 30 as Pakistan routed Sri Lanka in the fourth one-day international in Colombo.
Akmal’s 102 came off just 72 deliveries and carried the tourists to a challenging total of 321 for five in their 50 overs, captain Younus Khan scoring 89 and Akmal’s brother Kamran making 57.
In reply, Sri Lanka came up 146 runs short as Iftikhar picked up the key wickets of openers Upul Tharanga (80), Kumar Sangakkara (39) and Thilan Samaraweera.
Kamran Akmal gave Pakistan a fine start with a fine half-century, adding 61 for the opening stand with Imran Nazir before the latter was bowled by a low full toss from Thilan Thushara for 23. Akmal and Yousuf added a further 45 before spinners Malinga Bandara and Ajantha Mendis broke through.
