HARARE, Zimbabwe (AFP) - Zimbabwe were bundled out for the lowest score in one day international history of 35 runs by Sri Lanka at Harare Sports Club here.

The previous holder of the record was Canada with 36, also against Sri Lanka, in the 2003 World Cup.

Zimbabwe collapsed despite not even facing ace spinner Muttiah Muralitharan, who had been rested by the visitors.

Chaminda Vaas took his career total of wickets to 301 with 4-11 in nine overs and debutant Farveez Maharoof returned 3-3 in three overs.

Zimbabwe’s top scorer was Dion Ebrahim with seven while 20-year-old captain Tatenda Taibu - one of the few others along with Ebrahim in the side with international experience prior to the series - out first ball.

The Zimbabweans have had to field a hugely inexperienced side since 15 white cricketers rebelled over the sacking of Heath Streak as captain last month.

Despite a decent performance in the first one dayer they have declined rapidly in the following two and look certain to go 3-0 down in the five match series.

lankans have a great appetite for records....

And Australia is scheduled to tour Zimbabwe next !!

Hayden will be looking to get his Highest Test Score record back.

Start taking bets, folks.

How long before Zimbabwe is stripped of its test status?

They have made a joke of themselves. ICC can't just keep looking the other way.
